William Randolph Jr.
Featuring works by Bach, Sowande, Vierne and Virgil Fox.
William Randolph Jr., has been director of music and organist at church of the intercession for 18 years. He is also Associate Organist at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and Adjunct Organist at Columbia University. A graduate from the Manhattan School of Music, Bill studied with Frederick Swann former organist of Riverside Church and the famous Crystal Cathedral. Bill has performed for Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu and George Carey, the Archbishop of Canterbury .
He has given recitals at St Thomas Church, 5th Ave, The Riverside Church and in the caribbean at the Anglican Cathedrals in Barbados and Bermuda. In 1988 Bill was invited to the Grand Prix de Chartres Organ Improvisation competition in France. In 1999, Bill was featured in the performance of a work for Organ and Steel Band in Barbados and was organist for the state funeral of Sir Frank Walcott that was broadcast on BBC.
